Hi! My name is Aleah, and I am an FFA member from Oklahoma with a passion for agriculture, communication, and advocacy. I created The Ag Advocacy Project to help educate others about the agricultural industry and bring awareness to important issues affecting farmers, ranchers, and consumers today.
Growing up involved in agriculture and FFA has allowed me to see firsthand how much hard work, dedication, and science go into producing the food and products people use every day. However, I have also realized that many people are disconnected from agriculture and often only see misinformation or stereotypes online. That is one of the main reasons I started this project.
Through The Ag Advocacy Project, I hope to help bridge the gap between consumers and producers by sharing accurate information, real stories, current agricultural issues, and educational content in a way younger generations can understand. I want people to feel comfortable asking questions about agriculture and learning more about the industry without judgment.
My involvement in FFA has included competing in speech contests, LDEs, CDEs, agricultural communications, and agriscience research. My research has focused on topics such as microplastics in livestock water and low-cost filtration methods for producers. These experiences have shown me how important communication and education are in the future of agriculture.
This project combines several things I am passionate about: advocacy, education, science, leadership, and storytelling. My goal is to help agriculture be understood better while giving a voice to the people who work hard every day to feed and support our communities.
Thank you for supporting The Ag Advocacy Project, where real agriculture leads to real conversations.
Since starting The Ag Advocacy Project, this project has continued to grow into a platform focused on educating consumers, advocating for agriculture, and creating real conversations about the industry. What first started as an idea to help people better understand agriculture has turned into a growing project dedicated to sharing accurate information, current agricultural issues, producer perspectives, and educational content for younger generations.
One of the biggest accomplishments so far has been creating a space where agriculture can be explained in a way that is easier for students and consumers to understand. Through advocacy posts, research-based content, interviews, and educational resources, this project has worked to help bridge the gap between producers and the public.
The project has also connected advocacy with real agricultural experience through FFA involvement, agriscience research, speech competitions, and agricultural communications. Research involving microplastics in livestock water and low-cost filtration systems helped inspire a larger focus on educating others about agricultural science and current industry concerns.
One thing I am most proud of is being able to combine communication, education, and advocacy into one project that can continue growing over time. Agriculture impacts everyone, and helping younger generations better understand the people, science, and hard work behind the industry is something that truly matters to me.
As The Ag Advocacy Project continues to grow, future goals include expanding educational resources, sharing more producer stories, covering current agricultural issues, and encouraging more young people to become advocates for agriculture themselves.
